| yesterday I was woken up to the sound of monkeys in the trees but I couldnt hear the dogs ID tags jingling so because I'm such a worry pot I peeped out the window to check and they were running up and down after the monkeys above their heads! They aren't very yappy dogs. So i crawled back to bed until 10am! (disgusting I know!) and wheni woke up the first thing I did was go and open the door for the dogs. There stood Taylor only. Normally Trigger is bounding against the walls and door to get in to say hello but he was nowhere to be seen. We have a tiny yard so it's not like he could go anywhere!
My heart just sank but I thought it strange that he would get out somehow and she wouldnt because she is normally the escape artist! I called, looked around and he was gone. Sometimes when he chases monkeys he jumps so high against the fence that I often wonder if one day he will just jump too high and fly right over the other side which is all I could think had happened because there were no holes anywhere.
I tried not to panic and I was just about to go inside and change and I decided to try the garage - you never know! I didnt for a second think he would be in there because I had seen him earlier and the door was closed. I opened it and he shot out of the darkness like a bullet! All i can think is that the wind had blown the door open and he had run in (he loves the garage) and it had blown shut! He was so happy! He must have been hysterical because I was calling him and he didnt cry but he was right there and probably wondered what was wrong with me for not knowing where he was! ha ha!
He did ransack the garage - i have no idea how long he was in there for! ripped newspaper and knocked things over and did his business everywhere!! m just glad I didnt have to search the neighbourhood! it took a few years off my life though! |

| Kristin you could write a whole book on the adventures of Taylor & Trigger Glad you found him safe & sound Having 12 yorkie kids I do a number of head counts every day to make sure they're all there - I feel like a shepherd counting my sheep I really panic far too much if one little head can't be seen - our property is very well doggy proofed & has a 8 foot wall all around. I have frantically searched for a "missing sheep" many, many times & 9 out of 10 times the little one is found curled up in a cupboard fast asleep & totally oblivious to the frantic search going on in the house |

| Lucky I only have 2 to worry about! with 12 i would have to do a daily register! He could have answered me when I called him! luckily I didnt go walking through the neighbourhood and stress myself out and tried the garage first! Honestly i accepted the fact that he was out and calmly went to change my clothes before panicking too much! at least he had fun in there though |

| Mel. Now I understand why Terrance love the cupboards so much!!! When he is missing, I allways go look in all the cupboards first. When we got Tinkerbell she was missing too...we looked everywhere, under and behind the couches. Under the beds in the garden just to get her all curled up on my daughters bed, we never thought of looking on the beds cause she was far to small to climb on herself, but my 3 year old picked her up and put her there. You better check your washing before putting it in the washing machine!!!! When I was in London and working at a vet we got a cat that was in a tumble dryer, the poor kitty's ears was badly burnt and he was in Shock and his body tempurature was very high. he was in there for 3 minutes!!! |

| mine aren't cupboard dogs luckily! I worried because normally if you call either one of mine Trigger will come sprinting over immediately! He is never one to be missing! there was a story similar to that on the news a while back about a cat in a washing machine that survived. Imagine the guilt of those poor owners In our house the rules are (1) bedroom doors closed and entrance doors now wedged open so as not to slam on anyone (2) Toilet seat closed and better yet bathroom door closed! (3) high objects kept away from window sills because taylor climbs out (4) no washing on the floor mainly because of Trigger's little wee-wee habit. only my fiance finds the new rules hard! ha ha! honestly, different monkey troops behave differently. this particular gang are quite timid and dont come too close too often. no one feeds them in our area. They like to tease the dogs though by sitting just out of reach. however before I had Yorkies I had a big rescue dog and we lived in a different area. Ever watch a program on animal planet called "Street Monkeys"??? Those were our troops where i stayed and they would literally gang up on this dog and attack her and i had to lock us inside and shut all the windows because they would follow her inside and try to get at her for chasing them. i was terrified! once i phoned my fiance in tears, dog crying too because i couldnt go outside even and they would ambush us! you have to be careful with them. those monkeys were fed and become very aggressive for food |

| I also think they are illegal here. I think people are scared they cross with our meerkatte or something?? We had 2 leave our babies behind But we found a nice home for them. Our ferrets had the run of our flat and they used a sandbox just like cats do. They weren't very affectionate and the one like to bite us. If I know what I knew now I would have gotten a parti yorkie or Biewer while we were in Europe and just brought the dog over with us. But those days I knew nothing about Biewers or Parties Spyt kom altyd te laat!!! |

| Puddin can tell when we are getting ready to go out and she goes into hiding. She can be very creative about her hiding places as well! We are letting Lovey have more freedom in the house and I think she is going to turn out to be a climber. It took us weeks to teach Puddin to use her steps to get up onto the bed and even today, she comes up slowly, making sure each foot is securely placed before she comes us. That Lovey just gallops up them and they are MUCH taller than she is! So, I'm probably going to have to implement the same rules about tall furniture near windows!
She is also slippery! You put her in a room and before you can close the door, she's slipped out between your ankles!
I also have the laundry hamper rule, but no problem with toilets, my hubby is good about putting the seat down. My laundry room is outside, so it's not a worry, but I have to continually nag my husband to keep the door to the garage closed cos if one of them gets out there and the garage door is open, they can make it to the street...the palings are not close enough together to keep them inside the property. They are OK in the back garden...they can't reach the driveway from there because of the gates and fences...but then there is the pool! Small wonder all my doors to the outside have baby gates on them!!
Having Yorkies is like having a couple of toddlers...gotta child-proof everything and keep your eyes open all the time!!
