| I dunno about the gardens themselves, but across the road there is a craft fair and market on certain weekends and that place is dog friendly. Been there numerous times and it was one of Puddin's favourite outings. (Lotsa good stuff there, too!) |

| This place has lots of tents and shades with people selling everything you can imagine, from dog leashes to doorstops, jewellery to doll clothes! Then, in the back there is a farmer's market with cheeses, veg, jams...there is even a guy who gives pony rides! (Puddin was terrified of the pony, so no ride for her). I have seen all kinds of dogs there, from labs on leashes to Puddin in her pram. In fact one of her cutest little dresses started out as a doll dress from one of the sellers that I modified so she could walk in it! You can spend several hours there.
Also, at Mouille Point, the seawall and park there always has dogs, and the outdoor restaurants that front the sea permit dogs in the outside seating.
We have also taken Puddin to the Farmer's market at the Old Biscuit Mill many, many times. I recommend keeping your baby in a handbag or pram for this place because it is so crowded.
The Slow Food Market in Willowbridge in Durbanville is also dog friendly. We have been there many, many time with Puddin and the sellers just loved her! In fact, if we came without her, they would ask us where she was!
So there are a few ideas for you...enjoy! |

| Oh! I forgot! Camp's Bay! All of the restaurants facing the beach, if they have outdoor seating, appear to be dog friendly. We've had Puddin in several of them, and I've seen dogs in others. And the beach and grassy areas seem ok as well...have seen lots of dogs there.
We always keep a nappy on Puddin when we go to places like this so she doesn't soil anybody's floors, so if it is a full day outing, you might want to give some thought to your baby's toileting needs ahead of time. I also bring a little plastic bowl, a small bottle of water, and a bag of kibble, just in case.
Have fun! |

| I found the following information with regards to Kirstenbosch gardens and their rules for dogs: Dogs are not allowed in the developed Garden or the natural area immediately surrounding the Garden as far as the upper contour path. Dogs may be brought in via Rycroft Gate (Gate 3), where they may be walked up to the 300 m contour path via the path through the Seed Orchard/Stock Beds. See the Dogs Map for the dog-walking paths and dog exclusion zone. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times, and dog walkers must pick up and dispose of their dog's litter. Visitors caught breaking these rules may be fined.I've attached the map too... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I'm going to make use of the dog walking route too! I'm sure it will be beautiful! It's great that you want to take your new puppy to so many places! It's very important for all dogs, and especially Yorkies, to be well-socialized so that they are comfortable in every situation. It's also a great bonding experience. When you get the puppy, remember to be careful where you take it until he's had all his shots. Until he has had all three of his puppy shots, try to carry him around rather than putting him down where other dogs might have been. You never know what illnesses the other dogs might have had. Hope that helps! I'll try to think of other dog-friendly places in and around Cape Town
