OMW Janine!!! Did the mom reject them??? They are so tiny!!!! Is it their sister that you had to put down??

Do you have to feed all of them like that?? Did you get any sleep yet?

The mother did not reject them, 2 of the girls were just so small that the other 2 siblings just pushed them away from the nipples and they did not get enough milk from mom.

I started supplementing the 2 tiny ones, but as you know the other 1 was just not as strong as little MiuMiu.

I get more sleep now, I only feed MiuMiu twice through the night and not every 2 -3 hours anymore. That was really exhausting!

MiuMiu @ 3 weeks old is about the size of an average Yorkie puppy's weight @ birth, which is about 125g. (That is the weights my pups are born in any way, I do not know about other breeders.)

O Janine, she's so tiny!!! so small and fragile, can you imagine if a pup that small was born to a dodgy breeder, they wouldn't give her the attention she needs!

She is very cute, Janine! You're obviously doing a great job with her Smile Like Megs said, not all breeders go to the trouble you are going to make sure little MiuMiu is healthy and strong. She is adorable and I'm sure she'll grow into a beauty!

If you don't mind me asking, what do you supplement the puppies with?

I have tried & tested a few puppy milk replacement formulas over the years and this one works for me:

1 cup whole goat milk ( I buy goat milk powder and make up 250ml)

1 egg yolk

1 teaspoon glucose

1 teaspoon cold pressed flax oil / cod liver oil

When I warm some milk up for a feed, I add about a tip of a teaspoon of double cream (thick cream from Woolies).

You need to get the calories per 1 CC high enough for the puppy to pick up weight.

Thanks for sharing! Your formula sounds very healthy and a lot of international breeders use the same formula Smile The commercial formulas aren't any good, are they? I've read that Esbilac causes cataracts and other formulas can cause liver shunts. Natural is definitely better Smile And goat's milk is the closest to mom's milk.
