PostSubject: Diaper Pattern   Mon Nov 01, 2010 8:30 am

Sweetviolet gave me this pattern more than a year ago and I made one by hand because I didn't have a sewing machine. It stopped the puppy from peeing on my bed and other furniture. It's definitely a great tool for anyone with a puppy, or even a female in heat! Now we just need a pattern for a belly band for the boys Smile

Tell you what, Marilize...if someone with a boy Yorkie will volunteer to bring him to my house (in Sandton, Joburg) I will make up a pattern for a belly band using him as a model. I made the nappy pattern using Puddin' as a model, but since I don't have an "anatomically correct" model for the belly band, I'll have to wait for a volunteer.

Once made, I'll send the pattern to you and we can "field test" it with members and, if necessary, I can modify the pattern to make it just right. I am thinking a belly band with a detachable set of braces (suspenders in US parlance) might also be good for those really clever boys who can wriggle out of them. What do you think?

This looks interesting. Are there any pics of the yorkies wearing them?

Here's a pic of Puddin' wearing one: http://sweetvioletsa.blogspot.com/2009/05/free-sewing-pattern.html

You'll have to get the pattern here, though. The website referenced in the article no longer exists.

How odd! I was just amending the entry, so maybe that caused it. Try again. If it doesn't work, PM me with your email addy and I'll send you some pics. This pattern has been emailed to more than 200 people world wide due to its appearance on another Yorkie site!

Great idea! Thanks for offering to design one, Sweetviolet Smile I live too far from you to send my boy over there. He is too big for a yorkie anyway, lol. Are there any other SAY members who might be able to volunteer their boy for a model? If not, we can make another plan...

Belly bands are so useful for training boys!! And especially for the studs who haven't been neutered Smile

I can get belly bands for around R35 each. A lady makes them for me! It really helps a lot when a female is on heat or for males who mark everything! She puds a little padding in the middle so soak up the pee. I'd rather pay R35 than attempting to make it myself! It's not the effort, it's the time!! Razz

I need a belly band SOOOOO badly! TRigger has reached puberty it seems! and he is lifting his leg all over the place. I know it's normal so I dont scold him for it outside but last night he jumped on our spare bed and i found a little puddle and I could have killed him but he had ducked outside very quickly knowing he owuld be in trouble! I jept quiet because if my fiance found out he would have a fit!!!!! he has always been anti male dogs for this very reason so being a good mommy I protect my little boy! But deep down I wanted to murder him!!! ha ha!

Jeanique how can I get one from you? ASAP! also with Taylor coming into heat soon. Are they reusable?

It has been sent, Debbie. I am on holiday in Pilanesberg, so I didn't get your message until this morning.

Email me if you need any help or clarification, please!

Hi MaryMiller. You can download the pattern by clicking on the images in the original post. I'm also making some of these diapers for my Biewer girl this week.

Have fun!
