Just wanted to share this sweet photo of our beautiful new baby girl She was born on Sunday afternoon. Mommy Layla had to have a c-section because x-rays had shown there was only one pup, & as this precious girl didn't have to share food supply or space with any litter mates she grew too big for Layla to be able to free whelp. She is just so plump & adorable She is our first female parti gene carrier so she is extra special

Congrats Mel!!!! She is just a precious little girl!!!! Ciara was also the only pup to her parents. She was their first litter and weighed 160g at birth!!! But like you said, genetic will determine her size. Ciara weighs 1.8kg at 3yrs old. Mika on the other hand was 90g at birth and part of a litter of 6. He now weigs 1.6kg at 5months!!! His mum is bigger than Ciara so I expect his weight to go up to 2.5kg, but I will see. As long as your baby is healthy and everything is in its place.....she is adorable!!!!! I would also want to keep all my pups if I were a breeder!!!!! Thats why I would never do it. I get too attatched too quickly and would probably cry if i were to give them away!!! _________________

Thanks everyone. I still get very teary eyed when I say good bye to my pups - it is incredibly hard I don't know how my hubby puts up with me after I've handed my babies over to their new families - because I miss them so much when they go & I'm miserable & grumpy for weeks after! I think I suffer more from separation anxiety than the pups do But then I get so much lovely feed back from the new families and I get to hear how much joy my babies are bringing to others....... then I remember why I do what I do.

Wow, she is adorable!! Well done, Sharlamay! I'm sure she'll grow up to be an absolute beauty. Making those decisions about puppies are always hard, I'm sure. But just as hard as it is for you, so much nicer it is for the new owners who get to take one of your puppies home! _________________

That is exactly how I feel Sharlamay! When the new parents phone or sms me everyday because they are SOOOOO excited and can't wait to get their new family member, it makes it all worth it!! You bring joy and love to someone else! |

I just realised now that Layla was born on Ciara's Birthday!!!! yay !!! And funny enough, Ciara was also the only female pup born to her parents!!!! If it runs in the strats, Layla will be a very inquisitive, extremely clever yorkie!!!!! _________________

Jeanique nice to know it's not annoying! I'm definately one of those that will want to know every detail of my baby growing up, with Zoey I limited myself to going to visit her once a week.

Thanks again everyone. It has taken us a while to think of a name for this precious girl, poor little one has been nameless up until today - but today I found the perfect name for her............. Klara We may spell it differently .......... Klahrah The meaning of this name is "Famous" and "Brilliant" Since she is our first female parti gene carrier we think she is "famous" and we already know she's "brilliant"
