| We all know each other's Yorkies by now, but I'm curious... For us, it was a simple matter of enjoying Johnny Cash's music (and I saw his movie: Walk the Line) and when I was researching names for dogs, I came across "Cash". Apparently, it is supposed to be a good name for a dog because it has a harsh sound and is easy to hear. So, I put the two together and decided to see if the name fit him when I picked him up. It did and Johnny Cash he became. His full name is Johnny "The Boss" Cash and June is June "Jam-Jam" Carter. June's name was very easy after Cash - she became Johnny Cash's wife How did your Yorkies get their names? |

| This will be a good thread!!! Averalda (breeder) chose Ciara's name. Her name is Ciara Anne. The mums name is Princess (will have to look up the registered name) and the dad is Picachu (has a long registered name as well). She wanted something with Royalty and was playing around with Tiara.....! Anne comes from Princess Anne. I gave her the privilege of naming Ciara as it was her first pup and she was the only pup born to her parents!! Coincidently Ciara is the name of a singer aswell, so with Mika we looked into singers. We wanted something short and hubby thought of Mika. I wanted Maximillion as its also a fancy name for a fancy dog, but I gave in. He is registered and Beautiful Mika, but Mika for short!!! Not that interesting, but they both have stories to their names!!!! |

| Um...My fiance randomly chose Taylor's name (the whole family hated it but it kinda stuck and we loved it!)
Trigger originated from Toby Jack. I always seemed to have pets with names starting with a T so i registered him as Toby and added Jack on in case the name was taken. My fiance however had other ideas and said Toby was a "poofy" name and he needed a strong name and called him Trigger which i was unhappy about but it grew on me too!
Nothing fancy in our home! |

| Our first yorkie was Tinkerbelle because I LOVE fairies!!! No.2 was Kimi - named after Kimi Raikonnen the F1 driver No. 3 was Mienkie - named after Minki van der Westhuizen (my boyfriend chose this off course) No. 4 was Nemo - I wanted to call him Pixie because he was so little but everyone said it's not appropriate for a boy! So we chose Nemo because I love that movie "Finding Nemo" No. 5 was Khloe - I've just always wanted a little girl called Chloe but I chose to make it a little bit different and spell it with a "K" like Khloe Kardashian No. 6 was Angel - My boyfriend always wanted an "Angel" No.7 was Lynnzie - Her registered name is Lynnzie so we just decided to keep it as I've always loved the name "Lyndsay" No.8 is our Biewer a'La Pom Pon, Bugatti - Named after one of the fastest cars in the world which is very exclusive and only a few made so ja... That's us! |

| Calvin is named after Calvin in the Calvin & Hobbes comic strip in the Cape Times. Calvin & Hobbes comic books got me through numerous university exams and Calvin is a really cute, naughty little boy - just like my Calvin! Bella is named after my best friends rottweiler. She really loved that dog, but had to give it up when she had to move from the farm to a dinky-puff flat in Joburg. So we keep Bella's memory alive in my Bella. Besides, she is the most beautiful dog in the world and Bella means beautiful in Italian! It's fate! I'm definitely going to look this thread up again if I ever convince hubby to enlarge our yorkie family |

| Yes, I really want to go to the meet-up. I'm terribly excited! I love the name you chose for Mika. Mika is a really funky artist and his music makes a person wanna get off your bum and dance! Ya, Calvin is a small boy. Bella is 2.2kg and uses all her weight and strength to show him that chicks rule! |

| Thanks. That is why we chose Mika and funnily enough he is just as crazy as Mika's music videos!!!! And also because Ciara is the name of a musician too. So we have musical dogs!!!! Ciara is also ruling Mika for now, but when he gets bigger...she will have to watch out !!! He will tackle her. When they play tug of war I can see how he is getting stronger already and is able to hold on for longer!!!

| And it's always so hysterically funny when he comes to Mommy for protection because she's stolen his favourite teddy |

| Puddin' was named by my husband a full year before we got her...
I had been wanting a Yorkie for years and he always had some excuse or another not to get one. Finally, for Valentine's Day 2008 he said I could have a Yorkie BUT it would be named Puddin'...the man LOVES puns, the worse the better. So, he thinks it is hilarious to have his Yorkshire Puddin' and loves the look on people's faces when they finally get the joke.
She, however, answers to a zillion names like Puddin' Pie, Puddin' Pop (an American frozen dessert!), Puddin' Pup, Puddinky, etc., etc., |
