I have just had a phone call from my dad and according to THE ROODEPOORT RECORD Yorkies are being stolen as the criminals have somehow come across the realization that they can be sold for over R3000.

Apparently two have disappeared already and their owners must be so devastated.I haven't seen the article yet but as soon as I do I will try scan it and post it here

Thats terrible, Those poor doggies and owners, would go out of my mind if that happend to me I hope they catch the person! shame!!!

I am totally freaked out,I live in Weltevreden Park which is not in the area where they were stolen but is close enough.Jamie is begging me to go outside and I won't let him.No more dogs outside without supervision

That is terrible. In Stellenbosch, they steal yorkies to use in dog fighting. They let their fighters kill the yorkies to give them practice!!

Luckily, Cash is afraid of strangers and never goes close to someone he doesn't know. He is also the fastest dog I have ever seen and no one can catch him, not even me. It was a hassle when he escaped from the house (my roommates let him out constantly), but no one would ever be able to steal him, he is too sly!

I really can't believe that human beings can do this!

Sadly this has been happening for awhile now I have heard of quite a few people who have had their yorkies stolen. One person was hijacked at home and their yorkie was also taken!!! I have a friend who made the papers once when her car was hijacked with her friends yorkie still in the car. Well she did what I would do and just fought the hijackers and managed to get the dog. I would kill and I don't say that lightly I truly mean it.

Touch my Yorkie and beware the consequences all h### will fall down on you.
First poisoning and now this.Poor Jamie was housebound and was only happy after he got a car ride

I can't believe people are so sick or should I say barbarians!!!! The poisoning still goes on in our town there have been cases where a whole street has had its dogs wiped out.

Apparently they will target one house or car and then poison the whole street just to get at that one house,people must keep their dogs inside at night,they can't protect you outside but if they are inside you will be warned.

When we lived in Windsor West we had a duplex and one night Jessie went downstairs and was barking and barking so we went to see and someone was
in the process of trying to break in,he had already broken the window open and was in the process of trying to take off the burglar bars...we never heard a thing..but Jessie did and prevented us from being robbed or worse

I agree about keeping dogs outside it really is pointless. All my dogs sleep inside and if they bark then there is something wrong. Great job Jessie!!
