| A couple of days ago, hubby and I went away for 4 days, and left my baby Chloé with my daughter (22) at home. After the first day my daughter said that Chloé stopped eating and is vomiting Yellow stuff. So we thought it is just that she misses us. Day two the vomiting stopped but she started to eat small bits of cooked chicken breasts. Day three the vomit starts again!!! On the day of our arrival she still did not want to eat ANYTHING not even her treats!!! Today she is still refusing food, and is still vomiting twice a day the yellow stuff. Do we need to take her to the vet or is it just because her stomach is empty? Surely there must be a reason for her not even want to eat her treats!
I must also add that in the complex where we stayed, they sprayed pesticide for weeds on the grass. My daughter took her for a walkie in the complex, can it be that some of the pesticide got onto her skin?
Your help will be greatly aprreciated.

| My personal opinion would be to take her to the Vet. it might be that chemical spray that they used. If she just vomited once off and still ate,I would not worry, but it seems a little long now.
Ciara my yorkie also vomits yellow foam on occasion, but just once and usually its when she eats something that does not agree with her tummy or when her tummy is empty.
Thats just my opinion! _________________ |

| I agree with you, Val. Take her to the vet, Leandie, so he can have a look see My yorkies also vomit yellow bile sometimes, but if they didn't eat for a whole day, I'd get them to the vet. June hasn't been eating her food, but she still manages to eat one meal a day, so I'm happy. She still plays and she isn't pale, but I'm watching her. Take her to the vet just to be sure. _________________ |

| The yellow vomit is an empty stomach and could be caused by separation anxiety. Please take her to the vet as she can so easily dehydrate. Next time you leave you could try to give her a couple of drops of Rescue it should take the edge of and help her to still eat. |

| My little Nemo also vomits yellow foam every now and again, but he still eats after that. He is the bad eater in our family so it definitely is caused by an empty stomach. I agree though that you should take her to the vet. If they keep eating and drinking water it's not that serious, but if she refuses food for so long, rather take her to the vet!! |

| Without freaking anyone out, there could be so many reasons - I know in the past that my dogs suffered with tick bite fever and had this kind of vomiting and pale gums and eyes. With the weather getting warmer the ticks and fleas come out in full force and I would have her checked by the vet as soon as possible.
the insecticide could be the reason as well or seperation anxiety. No matter what it is, I agree with Amoureux - they dehydrate quickly and need something to pick themselves up again. Its very important that they drink when they are like this, even if you are forced to syringe it down the throats. When mine had Biliary the vet told us to add a small about of glucose to their drinking water for extra energy and we had to force it into them at times.
When Taylor suffered a runny tummy for a few days the vet gave her an electrolye which mixed with her water and had a flavour and she actually liked the taste and that helped her to drink and recover.
They're so little, it only takes a few pukes to dehydrate them so i would get her checked out. rather spend the money and let it turn out to be nothing than let her be ill. |

You're right TaylorWoods, the electrolytes and glucose are very good to get them to drink water and it boosts their energy levels and keep them hydrated! It's good to keep in your house!! I always tell the owners of my puppies to keep it in the house, especially while the yorkies are still young. |

| You are right TaylorWoods there can be many reasons for the yellow vomit I just took from the post that they went away and I know that my one little boy does this when ever I go away and the best would be to have the vet check her out to make sure. |

| The vet gave me an electrolyte mix. Im not sure if they would give it without a script though. Glucose works just as well and gives them that boost they need. |

| Hallo Guys
Thanks for all the good advice. I took Chloé to the vet on Friday, and she said that Chloé had middle ear infection! But a very bad one!!! With a little bit of blood too :-(
She got antibiotics, cortizone tablets and ear drops. Saturday she where a bit better but yesterday she started vomiting again!
The vet told me that if she is not better today, I must bring her back, they will then give her anestetic and look deep into the ear to see if it is not a foreign object / bug that crawled into the ear!
This morning she looked better and even ate a bit of chicken, so lets hope for the best! She lost 200g through all of this :-(

| Poor Baby, I hope she feels better soon. Always better to have a vet check things out. How I wish they could sometimes just tell us where it hurts. |

| Thanx guys, she is much better today. She started to eat a bit, so I think things will be ok now. She is still sleeping most of the day and is not playing but I suppose that will follow soon. She is still on medication, but much better. Must say she was very ill, and it broke my heart to see her like that. She is longing to go outside for a walkie but because it is to cold and windy, we rather kept her inside. |

| I'm so glad to hear that little Chloe is better, Leandie! It's never nice when they are sick. Unfortunately, ear infections happen every now and then. Do you clean her ears with a solution? That might discourage future infections. Give her lots of love from all of us _________________ |

| Yes Marelize, the vet gave me a solution to clean the ear before putting the drops in. Chloé goes to the parlour once a week, to a stunning lady that breeds / shows with Yorkies and spesialize in grooming yorkies. She normally cleans her ears every week. She said to me she never seen Chloé's ear like this... :-( I hope this never happens again to my baby, because she looked at me with such sad eyes, it totally broke my heart :-( |
