| I had such a bad night, woke up with Tammy vomiting so much and very runny tummy(like water). Shame she just kept on vomiting. Everntually she fell asleep next to me and slept till 8h30, and woke up her own self. Now I must just see how she is today, otherwise she must go to vet. I wonder if it could have anything to do with teething (7 months), I did not change her dieet at all. I felt so sorry for my baby! She is so healty otherwise. |

| Shmae Karen!!!! That does not sound good. Did she eat at all today?? Drink water??? She may become too dehydrated. I think you should take her to the vet just to be sure?? I remember when Ciara was little, not sure how many months, but she also vomitted and had a runny tummy. The vet told us it was the food that we were giving. Not sure if it was though We had her on hills puppy and added a little liver to her food. They gave antibiotics and medication and R500 later she seemed to be ok. We gave her liver again after that and she was fine. So maybe it was her teeth at that stage as well. She also vomitted yesterday morning, but was ok again and ate her food during the day. She was fine last night and ate as usual. Not sure what caused that. Hope Tammy gets better!!!! How is she now? Ps: Sorry for rambling on about Ciara.........!!!Got carried away! _________________ |

| She is doing much better now, but did not eat at all yet. She did drink water more than once . During the night she vomitted alot but her tummy did not go that much. I think it might be that she ate too much poo and that caused her to vomit. They do not eat their poo all the time anymore but sometimes they still do. I wish they will stop doing it , it is so gross! While I am typing this, I see she is eating a bit, so maybe I should just see if the food stays in. I pray that it does! Is Ciara ok now? It really is not nice when they are sick. |

| Yes, Ciara is ok now. I think she could have been hungry? I remember Marilize mentioning once that when a dog vomits foam early in the morning they could be hungry (correct me if I am wrong Marilize!). She ate he food that we left for her yesterday and her supper last night. This morning she was firts at her bowl when I put it down. Not sure what could have caused that?? I monitored her yesterday and last night and she was full of energy and playfull. If she i eating again I think she will be ok, but just monitor her during the day. She is still a baby!!! They tend to eat and chew so many things when playing. I am always worried about Mika because he constanctly chews things up, whether its his toys, wood from outside, grass, paper. It seems that his system is strong as we did not have problems with him vomiting yet??? _________________ |

| Wow, Karen. It sounds like you had a stressful night! I'm glad to hear that Tammy is okay now.
Amoureux actually mentioned that the vomiting could be caused by not eating enough. Always make sure that they eat regularly and that they eat enough. If she is eating again, she should be fine. Keep checking that she is eating.
What food are they on? _________________ |

| It was very stressful! I hate it when they get sick. I am so scared that something will happen to them, because I lost one before. They are eating enough. When she started vomiting it was browninsh thick stuff, I know it is discusting but she definatly ate her poo. I wish they will stop doing it. She did eat food just now again. They are still on RC and in the late afternoon I give them some chicken with it. I felt so sorry for her, she is much bigger than Misty but much more of a baby! |

| Have you tried giving them pineapple with their food to stop them eating their poo? If she is getting sick from eating it, something needs to be done to stop them. Like I mentioned previously, I only had that problem when June was on RC as a puppy and as soon as I started giving her home cooked food, she stopped eating her poo. The habit of eating poo has been linked to a diet deficiency, so I'd really think about changing. Otherwise, add 1/4 teaspoon of crushed pineapple to every meal to discourage her from eating her poo. _________________ |

| I have been giving them pineapple every day for the past 2 months now. I am not sure it was that , that made her sick though. I am giving them chicken at night but they are still doing it. As I said they are not eating it all the time anymore, and also I pick it up immediatly most of the time. |

| So the pineapple isn't working for them? Has it made them eat less poo or was there no difference at all?
It's great that you are so vigilant with them. I think that if Tammy is eating again, she should be fine. Keep an eye on her (I know you are already!) and if she starts vomiting again, I'd take her to the vet.
Digestive upsets are very common in yorkies because they have such sensitive stomaches. If it is only a quick spell, there isn't great cause for concern. If it continues for more than a few hours and she gets dehydrated, take her to the vet.
I hope she continues to eat and play!

| I dont think the pineapple is making any difference. I am not going anywhere today, so I am watching Tammy like a hawk. If she vomits again I am taking her to the vet immediatly.
Thanks so much for your concern. She is sleeping now, think she is so tired after the difficult night! |

| How is she doing now? Is she better? Not too long ago my dogs were all sick! Had some kind of a stomach bug so it could be doing the rounds. They were just vomiting, no runny tummies. |

| She is much better, still not 100% herself, a bit less hyperactive! I gave her a bit of chicken with her RC about one hour ago and she kept it in so far. She also had much more vomiting than a runny tummy, her tummy only went once and it was like water. The only funny thing is, she has not pood today at all. |

| Tammy is playing and eating, very well again. I am just worried , she has not pooed since 2 am. I phoned the vet and he said I must not worry, but it is so strange, eating etc and not making poo at all! I read on the internet that if a dog had diaree it is possible for them not to poo for 2 days or so. Did anyone experience this with their babies? |

| hi, Val, Tammy,s stomach were very runny this morning. I just had her at the vet, he said it must be something she at. Gave her two shots, shame she cried. She vomited in the car and obviously did not eat anything yet, is very sleepy now. Thanks for caring. I hope she is better soon. |

| Oh no!!! I am glad you had her at the vet. Sounds like when Ciara was ill. They also told us it was something she ate, but then concluded that it must be the liver that we gave her. Im not so sure it was that as we still give them liver sometimes and she is fine, but she got better!! I really hope that she gets well soon. Its not nice seeing them like that and there is nothing you can do!!! makes one feel very helpless!!!!! All of the best with her!!! _________________ |
