| I was wondering, what do you pay to have your yorkies groomed? I am thinking about having them cut short with ponytail. They want to charge me R130-00 for one. |

| Karen I have seen that you can pay anything from R110-00 to R180-00 at a parlour for a short cut. |

| You might find another groomer who does it for less. Shop around until you find the right one for your babies. I don't use groomers, so I don't know what the prices are today. Maybe they can give you a discount for bringing in more than one? |

Ek vat 3 honde saam met my maltese. Het gister gebel, maar se toe nee, net as mens 4 honde neem! Voel eintlik dit is n prinsiep saak want 3 honde is baie.

Good luck! |

Dis vir my n bietjie baie! Maak nie saak of sy skeer of net groom nie, R170 is haar prys. |

| Shoe, R55 is min. |

| My parlour vra R60 vir groom, naels knip, tande borsel.

| That reminds me, my mom told me about an article she read in her local newspaper about a lady that took her yorkie to the parlour for the first time and it died of a heart attack! How awful is that!!! Poor baby! So you're right Karen, it could be scary for them to sit there with all those big and noisy dogs around. |

| Oh no!!!!!!! Thats terrible!!! I was planning on taking Mika soon. The hair on his ears are starting to get long and his nails and hooking on the carpet.
No I am paranoid. Do you think he ill be ok going with Ciara?? Or maybe I should wait for him as I dont want them to trim him or cut him yet. Just the ears and nails. That shoudl not take too long?? |

| It will definitely put him at ease to have a friend, Ciara, there. If you are going to take him the groomers regularly, he needs to get used to it as early as possible. I think this small trim would be the perfect first time: it shouldn't take too long and he will have a friend. Just tell the groomer to use scissors and not clippers on the ears. |

| Why not clippers Marilize? I start using clippers on my pups immediately. I bought a small clipper from Amoureux, which she imported from Germany. It works wonderfully for ears, bum, tummies or whatever. I'm sure the parlours use the same thing when shaving ears. It doesn't make too much noise and it doesn't hurt them. The puppies always sit so still when I do it the first time. The hairdryer is a different story though... |

| Jeanique, I would trust you with a clipper, but that doesn't count for everyone! I've heard terrible stories about clipping accidents at groomers. When I got Cash trimmed at the groomers as a puppy, the groomer said that she refuses to use clippers because one turn or jerk of the head can cause a lot of injury to the puppy.
Unless you trust your groomer completely, I'd go with scissors. |
