| I think it must be bad to be in a situation where you have to move and get rid of your dogs! Who do you ask? I think you should have such a good relationship with your breeder, that they'll take the dog back from you and re-home it into a suitable loving home on your behalf! That's what I'll expect from my buyers!!! To give me first option to the dog, unless if they have a close friend or family who will gladly take the dog.

| I know!!! I am sure lots of these people cant help it!!! But still!!!
Will the dog manage to adjust to someone else?? They get so attached to their owners? _________________ |

| Unfortunately not all breeders are like you most of them are making the money and getting rid of puppies and never contacting the new owners ever again. I just think if you commit to buying a pet of any kind you should know it is with you for however many years. there are many times when i could re-home my parrot because of his noise and he can drive a sane person mad, but my boyfriend always tells me i got him for a reason and he is my responsibility and he will be with me for the next 25 to 30 years. we have to move into a new place in 3 months time and that means finding a place suitable for dogs. there is no other option in my life im sorry. i would rather move home to my parents than get rid of my dogs. |

| I agree, if you get a pet and you need to move you search until you find a place you can keep them. This makes me so sad to see this type of thing He's so beautiful too..... |

| I agree completely. If you decide to get a pet, that dog is your responsibility for the rest of its life. I don't understand how you can just accept that you have to give up a dog you've had for 5 years?
Everyone tells me that the dogs make my life more difficult, I'm giving up my freedom to have dogs, bla bla bla. We have always rented and we've always managed to find something where we can have a garden for the dogs.
Last year, Cash became a city dog and we lived in an apartment. I got June and although we were on the fourth floor with only a balcony, with a little extra effort I kept them fit. The building had a big garden downstairs, so we'd run up and down the steps and then walk around and play in the garden. My point is that there is always a way to keep the promise you made to the puppy when you picked him. _________________ |

| I agree with all of you taking a pet is a life long responsibility.
BTW: "First option back" if the owner can not or do not want for whatever reason the dog anymore is part of my contract with new owners. I believe if you breed you stay responsible for that puppy for the rest of its life. |

| All of you are right!! You are responsible for that pet for however long it lives! But sometimes life happens! We don't know her situation but I agree that your pets are your companions and partners and kids in life so wherever you go, they should go with you!
Like Marilize said as well, there will always be apartments/flats that allow animals and pets. I wonder why the daughter/son who placed the advert can't take care of her. |

| I too like the "First Option Back" ...Our pets give so much and ask for so little. just luv em to pieces Taylor I giggled when you talked about your parrot as I got an CAG 4 years ago...if I knew then what I know now..probably wouldnt have done it. But boy can she make me laugh..wouldnt change her for the world..but they sure are high maintainance. When she shouts out "wicket " in a West Indian accent or repeatedly asks me what Im cooking its all worthwhile. Although the new Vuvuzela we try not to encourage too much as this could get seriously out of hand lol. Have a good week everyone Arelli |

| mine doesnt talk She is an Indian Ringneck but she can whistle a serious tune! she has learnt the X-Files tune now! ha ha! i thought SHE was a HE so i named him Homer (she is yellow!) and he has now turned out to be a female so the poor bird has a long life with that name! she can drive me to drink at times but I love having her out and about the house whistling and chasing the dogs and sitting on my shoulder they can be very demanding but very worth it I wanted to ask about this "First option back" clause. how do you ever follow up on that? have you ever had a puppy or dog returned? or do you stay in contact with all your buyers? I would be very upset if i ever found out one of my puppies had been re-homed and NOT come back to me. i suppose keeping good relationships with buyers is essential. |
